It was finally the weekend once again and as usual, I went out with Carlos where we celebrated our monthsary. Haha! We walked around Macau and the tiny little shops. I couldn’t really walk properly though because I had a hard time walking in my boots. I began to think that it was a bad idea for me to have bought those, but I couldn’t help it! They were really cute when I saw them in the UK. Haha Anyway, we went to this place called “Akasaka Cafe” and from the sound of that, we thought they served Japanese dishes like sushi and stuff, but we were wrong. They did have some ramen, Japanese rice, tempura, etc. though, but aside from those, they also had macaroons! Yes, macaroons, just like those of Paris! Of course they can’t be compared to Lauduree’s, but anyway, we decided to just have coffee and a piece of cake since I didn’t really feel like eating rice or noodles.

On a side note, it wasn’t really that cold on that day so I just put on a shirt and cardigan, jeans, booties and I was off to go! Below are the photos of what I wore but since we didn’t have the SLR on that day, we just used my baby’s phone…

Our view from the restaurant/cafe.

Muy bonita! 😉

Enjoyed myself here. Lots of History!

So here’s a little bit about the city of York.  I didn’t know what to expect at first but I heard that this city is quite popular among tourists.  I thought it was a little similar to Monmartre in Paris since there were a lot of local artists and you could even get your portrait drawn there.  I wish we had more time to explore the city because there was just so much to see and everything was just awesome so, go figure.  I would love to come back here again someday, hopefully with my family and my love, Carlos! 🙂  By the way, when we went to York, the weather was really “co-operated” and I’m just really thankful for God made it possible for us to visit this wonderful city.

I have a lot more pictures that I took, but I’d probably only be able to upload it in my next posts, so stay tuned for more!

Meadowhall!!

Tita and Mommy. 🙂

Loved the ambience there.

Yummmm!!! 🙂

Aaaah Food!

And of course, my brother’s dish has got to be the biggest one among the three.

I woke up pretty early thanks to my aunt who was so excited about my mom and brother’s arrival.  She had the day planned out for us where she took us to Meadowhall to shop our asses off.  However, before any of that happened , I first took a shower the moment I got up and got dressed.  After that, I was very excited and at the same time experiencing mixed emotions because my mom and brother were going to be here anytime and when I saw the car of uncle Dave approaching through the window upstairs, I just knew I had to hide somewhere because I wanted to pull a prank on them.  I had my aunt cover for me but it was an epic fail because they found me anyway.  Both my mom and brother wanted to sleep since they just came from the airport and a 14 hour flight.  Of course, I knew how they were feeling but we couldn’t just put this day to waste which is why we went to Meadowhall, the biggest shopping mall I’ve ever been in (I should say even bigger than the Mall of Asia in the Philippines) but then again, that’s just me.  Anyway, Uncle Dave dropped us off there before going to work and the first thing we looked for was a place to eat.  There were lots of restaurants, so many choices but we decided to eat at this place where we were able to get unlimited salad and drinks.  The food was okay though I must say, the portions were quite smaller from what I was expecting.  I saw a lot of shops I wanted to go into and just grab everything I saw but it was my mom’s time to do some shopping so I got accessories instead and a pack of cards from Urban Outfitters.  Hell yea!  Oh and by the way, this mall is where I’ve seen the biggest Marks and Spencer store ever!  It was just huge and it was difficult to choose and actually buy stuff because everything was just so pretty.  In the end, I wasn’t able to get anything though because my mom saw my luggage when she arrived and she didn’t want me to keep buying more stuff.  After walking around, my aunt and mother decided that they wanted to go home but before doing so, we stopped for Krispy Kreme doughnuts!  Yummmm!!  My favorite doughnut shop.  We all took the bus home instead of the train because they wanted to experience how it’s like to be in a bus in the UK. Haha.

Meet my brother 🙂

If there are dollar stores in the U.S., there are these kinds of stores in the UK! 🙂

All I’ve been doing these past few days was go to “town” or stay at home watching the telly, but today, my aunt brought me to Sheffield where we took the train and walked around the place.  Sheffield is a city near Leeds, I think and well since my aunt is not very familiar with the place, we just walked around the shops she knew like “Debenhams”  and all those tiny little shops.  Before we went window shopping, we stopped by at KFC where I had that yummy boneless banquet meal of theirs.  After being satisfied and full with what I had, we started walking around Debenhams and tried some of their pretty pieces of clothing.  However, I am on a tight budget until my mom gets here so until then, I’m not spending too much though of course, I’m not the kind of person who goes home empty handed.  HAHA!!  Yup!  I got a sweater from Miss Selfridge.  After that, we didn’t really see any more reason to stay there since I got something and all my aunt wanted to do was to go home so we did.  Funny thing, however, is that we did not know how to go back the way we came from, so in other words, we got lost and had to ask for directions from locals for the nearest train station.  Don’t worry.  We got home which is why I’m here blogging about it.  I’m having mixed emotions about seeing my mom and brother again after a month.  Teeheee!  Stay tuned for more as I explore some other parts of the UK.  🙂

Holaa!

Adorable little kiddos! Love them both!

See? Told you I can’t get enough of the blue sky!

At my aunt and uncle’s shop!
Yummy fish and chips!!!

Today, I spent half of my day in “town” where my aunt’s friend “Tita Allen” brought me around since she thought all I wanted to do was shop.  However, I was not able to buy any piece of clothing at all since I had limited cash, so I bought books instead.  3 for 5 pounds baby!!!  Afterwards, I went to Tita Allen’s place where we took pictures with her little adorable kiddos named Alyssa and Kieren.  Moreover, we went to our aunt and uncle’s “Fish and Chips” since we had nothing better to do but pig out.  After eating, Tita Allen drove me to where I’m currently staying which is my aunt and uncle’s lovely house and skyped with my boyfriend.  HAHA!  It was already late in Macau but he still skyped with me.  Talk about love!  When he went off, I was sooo bored I had nothing to do but I had an idea which required all the new stuff I’ve acquired from my trip to Paris and the stuff my aunt got me.  So I took pictures of myself in  my new pieces of clothing until I got tired, I decided to switch on the telly and watch until I fell asleep.  I’m such a pig!  Oh well, the life of being on holiday!

I love the colour of this shirt! 😀

Kebab! My last meal in Paris!

It was officially my last day in Paris, actually my last couple of hours to be exact.  I woke up pretty early considering I had little or no sleep at all.  My friends left pretty early to catch their train to Amsterdam, but my flight wasn’t till the afternoon so I left later than them which means I still had time to wander around and snap a couple of photos in La Defense.  Not only that, I got to do some last minute shopping as well even though I knew I would have to hand carry it since my luggage was already full.  Afterwards, I had lunch alone in the yummy Kebab place near the dorm.  Ohhhh, they are super delish!!!  Oh and for only 7 euros!  How awesome is that?  After a while, I went back to the dorm where I waited at the lobby for Lourdes and Caitlyn since I’ve already checked out earlier.

I was bored… @ the lobby.

I took a cab to the airport with Lourdes and Caitlyn where the driver took us to Charles de Gaulle airport, but since the airport was huge and I mean super huge, we were dropped off in our respected terminals since each terminal was quite far from each other and trust me when I say it’s not a walking distance.  Anyway, I got off second since my flight was scheduled at 6 pm.  I had to carry my heavy luggage on my own and not to mention, was asked to purchase a bag at the airport since they couldn’t allow a 39kg luggage to be checked in.  Man, was I so bummed since I had to walk all the way back to where I came from dragging my heavy luggage behind me to look for a bag.  Talk about travelling alone.  I mean I loved the experience of travelling alone and stuff, but sometimes, it can be too tiring and you have to be alert at all times.  So after I’ve put some of my other stuff in the new bag, I was able to check in and grab a bite in a cafe.  See, now that’s what I’m talking about.  Anyway, after I got into the waiting area, I saw a Chinese couple and sat next to them.  I talked to them for awhile and they were excellent in French but they spoke Cantonese as well so voila!  Way to make friends when travelling. Hahaha  After getting on the plane, I was so excited since there was no one beside me and I could sleep without anyone looking at me.  Thank you mom for booking me in the business class.  And I was off to Amsterdam!

My boarding pass.

@ the airport.

Had a chocolate bar and a book to read.

Finally got on the plane! 🙂

Boredom!

Up, up and away!!

Was unexpectedly served food even if the flight was just for around 45 minutes.

Haha! Hi and bye Amsterdam! Next time!!!

Ooohh pretty clouds!!

After 45 minutes on the plane, I landed in Schipol, Amsterdam where I only got to stay there for around an hour since I had to get on another plane to Leeds, GB.  I immediately looked for where I should transfer and in fact if I stayed too long in the washroom, I would’ve missed my flight.  I was lucky to not have, I guess.  In fact, it took like an hour to get to Leeds and when I landed, I got held up at the immigration since I forgot to fill in the address of my aunt and uncle.  How stupid of me!  So the person at the immigration had to call my aunt and uncle until they released me.  After I’ve passed the immigration, I had to get my luggage and my other bag which were too heavy for me to carry and drag, so I looked for a trolley but I was told that I had to pay a pound for it!!!  Bloody hell!  Pissed me off so badly!  I was tired despite the fact that the two flights added up to only 2 hours and forty-five minutes.  I knew it was their policy and I was not in the right position to argue so I had to exchange my cash for pounds and voila!  I got a trolley!  Haha!  It’s so weird how even those little things are not free.  I mean it’s the only airport that I’ve ever had to pay for a trolley.  Anyway, I was so happy to see my aunt and uncle standing right there waiting for me.  It was another 45 minutes by car until we got to their place so I rested in the back seat.  The moment I got to their place, I was just so excited and overwhelmed with joy.  I mean it’s a dream come true!  I’m officially in the UK!  I love their place!  So cute and pretty!  Oh and clean!! 🙂  After a couple of days, I’ll be reunited with my brother and mother.  Life is sweet!!!

There was a concert…

It was hard to get a photo.

The French girl who sang that time…

Mates! 😀

This is it.  The last part.  Right after climbing the Eiffel Tower, Naomi and I separated from Shannon and Fiona and went to meet up with our friends from Macau to have our last meal in Paris.  We went to a restaurant near the Louvre museum where we ordered a bunch of food and I was full so I shared my fries with Naomi.  There was a rude waiter by the way so Naomi and I decided to leave first and headed to St. Michel where I accompanied her to have dinner at the Latin Quarter.  After that, we went to look for our mates, but saw a bunch of people watching a free live concert and so we joined in for a while.  It was already dark at that moment so we decided to meet up with rest of our mates and found that they were having a lovely picnic by the Seine River.  Omg!  It was so awesome!  I felt like we were in a beach or something.  There was sand and oh it was just perfect, not to mention, romantic.  Haha!  If only my boyfriend was there to enjoy that moment with me…  Anyway, some of them decided to go home after that, but some of us wanted to partyyyy, so we did.  I know I had to get up early the next day to prepare my stuff and check out of our dorm, but hey how often do you get to party in Paris?  So, we went back to the Latin Quarter and went to club where there were bras everywhere by the way and just danced the night away!  We realized we had to leave soon since we had to get up early and get to the airport and we tried to catch the metro, but boom!  We were too late.  Lucky for us, we bumped into this Mexican professor from our school and they were heading back to La Defense as well so we joined them and took the public bus.  Omg!  Some people can be so inconsiderate…  It was the first time for me to see people smoking inside a bus.  It was really awful and stuffy.  It was a hell of a night though and one of the best experiences ever.  Both Shannon and Naomi walked me back to my dormitory and that was the last time I ever saw them.  It’s only been two days, but I miss them already!!!  I miss Paris and I miss my life there!

Voila! Meet most of us! 😛

Moi!

I love these girls so much!!!!!

Officially the last day. Au Revoir Paris Parte Deux.

So right after the ceremony, we all went our separate ways.  However, Naomi and I went to the mall again.  We seriously can’t get enough of everything in Paris.  We went to Les Quatre Temps to buy a couple of stuff and I’ll be posting all the stuff I bought here sometime soon.  After that, we went back to our dormitories where I changed to a simple tee and a plain cardigan.  After half an hour, I went out again and took pictures of everything near our dorm, starting from our school to the mall while waiting for Shannon and Naomi.  I was thinking about how much I was gonna miss it but decided to just enjoy the day with my friends.  I didn’t want to be all emotional again so yeaa…

Welcome to La Defense!

On another note, we headed to the Eiffel Tower… again where I queued up to go up.  I was alone during that time since both Shannon and Naomi had already gone during the first week there.  However, I missed my chance during the first three weeks so I was determined to climb it on my last day there.  The line for the elevator was extremely long and I didn’t really have much time to queue up there for hours so I lined up for the one with the stairs.  I was alone so I climbed it up pretty quickly as I was in a hurry and stuff.  Moreover, I did not want to keep Shannon and Naomi waiting so I took a couple of snapshots and asked random people to take a photo of me.  It was THE most magical moment of my life!  Being up in one of the world’s oldest and treasured monuments was the best!  Plus, I got an overview of Paris!  How awesome is that?  It’s not everyday you get to climb it up…  It was tiring though and just great!  I can surely cross “climbing up the Eiffel Tower” off my bucket list.  Below are the pictures I took before and after I climbed tower.  Enjoy!
🙂

Meet some of them! haha We were all hungry!

Okaay, so it was officially our last day in Paris.  I never thought it would come to an end, but it did.  I’m really sad I had to leave, but I’m thinking of going back again someday with the person I love.  Why, yes!  Paris is known to be the city of love so I’m bound to go back with my love! Haha!  Anyway, this post is about that time when we had the ceremony and stuff.  We were oh-so-late for it by the way. Not that I woke up late or anything, it’s just I had to get my hair done/curled after I got dressed and everything.  Plus, I went shopping for a while in the morning with both Shannon and Naomi!  Yes!  Early in the morning since we discovered a shop called “New Look” the night before so go figure.  After I got the stuff I wanted, I ran back to our dorm room where I put everything I got down and went to Stephanie’s room to curl the rest of my hair since it was only partly done when I stepped out.  We were super late though because my hair was too thick and it just couldn’t be done so yeaa…  Plus, when we got to the school, we were not told where to go so we had to look around, go up and down and then after searching for what felt  like half an hour, we finally found the place.  Greaat!  We were just in time for the slideshow and oh, it was just so nice to see everyone again.  After that, they called us one by one and handed out our certificates and when I got down, I heard Shannon say “Woohoo, That girl’s got SWAG!”  I love them so much!  It was so much fun!  We then sang a French song that was taught to us in class and it was just an emotional moment for us all.  There were some refreshments afterwards and everything was just delish!  Seriously!  French food is just great!  I highly recommend everyone to try French cuisines!  We took lots of pictures and then went back to the classroom to get back our envelopes with our letters and when we were about to leave, that was the time I teared up.  I can be pretty emotional at times and it caught me at that moment.  What was I supposed to do?  It’s not like I could stop it.

French Culture professor!

Snacking on a savory crepe before sailing…

The Eiffel Tower once again!

So, last couple of days in Paris and I wanted to make sure that my friends and I could make the most out of them and do something we haven’t done.  Therefore, right after class at 6pm, to be exact, I called two of my closest buddies Paris and Jenny and asked if we could get on a boat and see all the wonderful tourist spots while sailing on the Seine River and of course, they agreed.  Love them to bits!  I went back to our room, got changed, took the Metro, met up with them and voila, purchased our tickets to ride the boat.  I was just so excited to get on it since it was Paris for crying out loud!!!  Everything in Paris amazes me so yeaa.  Before we got on, we went to buy some savory crepes though I must say, they sucked!  Big time!  It was so unusual since most of the crepes I’ve had was really good and satisfying to my belly.  Oh well, allow me to say that I was caught of guard by that one.  Anyway, we got on the boat and we sailed away… Hooraaay!!!  I sat alone and in front of Paris and Jenny since I wanted to sit where I could get a view of the river without heads blocking it.  A little girl sat next to me and at first I didn’t want to talk to her or anything but then she suddenly said “hi” so I smiled back and we started talking and asking questions about each other.  She is from the Netherlands and was on a tour with her family.  She was really friendly and I guess she was the only one among her siblings who could speak English since I could not understand a word they were saying.  They were really nice though and we even took pictures together.  Moreover, her parents were nice too and her mom even snapped a photo for us.  That’s what I love about travelling.  You get to meet new people from different parts of the world!  However, I’m sad to say that I forgot her name.  I’ll never forget her though…  She’ll always be the friendly little girl I sat next to on the boat in Paris.

We headed back home right after that since we have to study for our Final exam tomorrow!!! Oh well, wish us luck!  Had a great day!!!

On the boat!!!
